5 HEALTH AND FITNESS TIPS FOR NURSES
1. Find time to exercise
When you’re busy with patients and have tight schedules you don't
have much time to exercise. Some people have enough energy to workout on the days they work, and others may need to workout on their days off. Decide if you are a morning workout
person or an evening workout person.
2. Get an Adequate Amount of Sleep
It’s important for nurses to make sleep a priority at home. Night shift
nurses must teach their bodies how to properly fall asleep (and remain asleep)
for long periods of time without any interruptions.
3. Eat a healthy diet.
Eating for good health is one way that nurses can reduce the impact of stressors
on the body and positively influence their health, allowing them to better care
for patients and themselves.
4. Focus on the present.
Adopt mindfulness. Pay attention when speaking to someone.
Make time to connect with loved ones on a regular basis.
Minimize multi tasking. Consider scheduling one weekend a
month as a time to disconnect from all digital devices.
5. Stay Hydrated With Water
Water is essential to overall health
An adequate intake for males is 13 cups of water and 9 cups for women.
